Complementary Medicine on the Battlefield

I recently read an article in the Wall Street Journal about using acupuncture to treat soldiers with concussions and brain trauma, and PTSD. Isn’t that cool? They are helping soldiers with headaches, insomnia, anxiety, and nightmares right on the battlefield in Afghanistan using acupuncture. It seems to speed their recovery, and also diminishes the amount of sleeping pills, anti-anxiety pills, etc. that usually are used. So not only is it helping the usual physical problems of back sprains, ankle sprains, and other injuries, but also helping the mental and emotional problems that go along with such a high stress situation. Even the VA is getting on board now: “The newest Defense Department and Department of Veterans Affairs clinical guidelines recommend acupuncture as a supplementary therapy for post-traumatic stress disorder, pain, anxiety and sleeplessness.”

I’m surprised they haven’t discovered the amazing healing effects of homeopathy. Just think what a little Arnica montana could do! All the trauma and head injuries, concussions, etc. could be helped alongside allopathic medicines just by a couple pellets on the tongue. Homeopathic remedies act instantly, similarly to acupuncture, affecting the energy, or chi systems of the body, to promote self-healing. I’m not saying don’t do allopathic medicine, just complement it. With literally 10 cents worth of homeopathy there is the potential to dramatically help people without the side effects known to accompany other methods of treatment.

It has been reported in the International Journal Homoeopathic LINKS Vol 24, 2011 p.7 that homeopathic remedies given to thousands of Haiti earthquake survivors improved their symptoms of PTSD. People reported improvements of 60 to 100% within 24 hours of the common complaints such as loss of concentration, loss of memory, mixed up thoughts, stress, fear it might happen again, loss of sleep, nightmares, headaches, etc. It was estimated that 10,000 people were treated in a short period of time.

What are we waiting for? I’ve said before that Homeopathy is a bargain. Using it as first aid is a real deal. Just try it-you have nothing to lose, except your pain.

Great, thanks 🙂 There’s so much more than most of us realize. Healing is as much spiritual as it is mental and physical…..
